How Kids-Friendly is Bali Museum?

School-age children can hunt for masks, spears and puppets and run safely in gardens, yet there are no hands-on workshops or playrooms, so boredom may set in after about one hour.

Considerations for visiting Bali Museum (with kids)

Positives:

  • Educational Value: Exhibits cover local art, textiles, and history for a hands-on cultural lesson.
  • Spacious Grounds: Open courtyards give kids room to move around safely.

Challenges:

  • No Dedicated Kids Area: No play zones or interactive stations beyond the exhibits.
  • Uneven Surfaces: Stone floors and steps may be slippery; supervise young children.

Recommended visit duration: 2-3 hours

Why 2-3 hours visit duration is ideal for with kids: This allows you to explore all four pavilions at a steady pace and take breaks in the courtyards.

Tip: Have wipes handy to clean masks before and after use.

A beautiful museum in itself. It provides detailed information about Bali and its history in a small space. However, it is quite hot despite the air conditioning. In addition to the entrance fee of 100k, it happened (at least to me) that I was given a guide without being asked. He then started to guide us through the museum more badly than right. This may be helpful elsewhere, but not here! Every...

I was just here to accompany my son's excursion with his classmate. I didn't go inside to see the museum. But I looked around public areas and was very impressed to see how clean it is. Please keep up the good work!

It is a good museum but only got four stars because it's not a great museum. The big draw is the architecture of the buildings, as the displays in the four buildings are actually quite minimal. I'm glad I went and would recommend going, but it is not extensive.

Bali museum is 100,000 Rupiah for adults. The temple before this skip it as the dude trying to get you in will charge you to put on the skirt as he explains the god relief sculpture with very little knowledge. He charged us 40 000 rupiah for the clothing then another 100,000 to hear his basic knowledge of his own religion. This is a scam , avoid them and tell them no . If they heckle you just walk...
