It is a relative easy terrain to walk between Fira and Oia. What makes it difficult, is the high heat, and the blazing sun (~35 degrees C at the end of July). The lenght is around 6-6.5 km. Be sure to put on shoes (running or hiking shoes), because the terrain sometimes is rocky and slippery sometimes gravel and pebbles. Dont start the track in flip-flops. Put on a hat, and take suncream with you....

Best think we did in Santorini - left Fira at 7am and arrived in to Oia at around 9.30am. I’m not particularly fit but found this hike to be easy enough - a few steep parts, a few rocky descents.
