What makes it 40% Baby-Friendly: Babies are allowed, but dozens of steps, cobbles and no stroller access, nursing room or changing table mean parents must use a carrier and plan breaks, making the outing strenuous.
Note: Castle of Pyrgos Kallistis is 40% Baby-Friendly. You may want to consider other Baby-Friendly Things to Do in Santorini for a more suitable experience.
Why 2-3 hours visit duration is ideal for with baby: Allows time for the carrier hike, village lane exploration, café breaks and summit views before baby tires.
Baby Carrier Castle Walk:
Hike the 0.8 mi trail in a secure carrier up to the castle ruins.
Tip: Move at baby’s pace. Pause in shaded spots and follow cobbled path slowly.
Village Lane Exploration:
Stroll nearby alleys to see blue-domed chapels and Venetian doors.
Tip: Use a carrier, watch for steps, and pause for photos at small squares.
Rest and Feed at Kasteli 1663 Café:
Visit the restored gallery café for shade and snacks.
Tip: Buy a drink to use indoor seating. Ask staff for a quiet corner for nursing.
Summit Viewing Point:
Enjoy wide sea and vineyard views from the castle top.
Tip: Visit before noon or after 4 pm for softer light and cooler temps.

Did it with a tourguide. Nice to visit if you have a guide. Nice original orthodox Church
Danara Suleimenova
The most beautiful place on the island! Peaceful sunset with no crowds of people around you was a cherry on a cake of Santorini. Would definitely recommend to visit.

Lovely place for a visit. Pass several hours looking at the lovely arts and crafts. All locally made, very interesting .

Nice place but not my favorite, Fira is way better than Pyrgos but Pyrgos is worth it only if you have extra time or if you have nothing else to do on the island. Not crowded. Nice to walk, there a some restaurants and shops.
Andreas Nielsen
The castle itself is located at the top of the town. A very charming Town not as crowded as Fira or Oia. Cute cafes and restaurants around the town. Parking is all the way down by the food of the town around the square. Becides from Fira you’ll also be able to spot donkeys in this town.
In summer, go early or late to avoid heat; carry water, sunhat and sunscreen. In winter, dress in layers for breezy summit conditions.
