What makes it 76% Kids-Friendly: Enclosed six-seat cabins and half-price tickets keep children safe and entertained spotting boats, but there are no play zones, long sun-exposed waits, and only basic toilets.
Why 1-2 hours visit duration is ideal for with kids: Includes ticket purchase, the 3-minute ride, a gelato break, and time for photos without rushing.
Ride the cable car:
Board a six-person gondola for a quick ascent from the Old Port to Fira in about 3 minutes.
Tip: Buy tickets before your cruise docks to skip long lines and keep kids happy.
Boat-spotting game:
Scan the caldera for cruise ships and fishing boats through the cabin windows.
Tip: Give kids a simple checklist of boat types to spot and check off.
Photo at the viewing deck:
Step onto the upper station deck for panoramic shots of the caldera and white cliffside houses.
Tip: Use bright hats or scarves on the kids for contrast against the blue sea and white buildings.
Gelato at Yes Cafe:
Reward the kids with local-flavor scoops just 50 m from the Fira station exit.
Tip: Try mango or mixed berries flavors; one scoop is enough for small appetites.

staff rude and not helpful who guides you to the cars .. I cannot sit backwards and staff even not bothered to listen … so what you will do if I faint inside the car? though team in the cash desk are nice and polite giving 5 stars only because I work myself in hospitality and not fair of one person to put all experience as bad you can pay card and cash one way

In summer, ride before 10:00 AM to avoid heat and long queues. In shoulder seasons (April–May, September–October), expect milder weather and shorter waits. Always check cruise-ship schedules in peak season.
