Very nice gate to old city from west through the old walls .local call the gate Hanioporta because is the pass from center to city's at west side of island CHANIA is the biggest at that side. Very nice stone work you can see mix of old and new work. There is a smaller gate next to the big passage.

I was impressed for this place in my way walking to Ammoudara beach from Archeological Museum of Heraklion. I like it because it was the entrance to the city so is great that u still can see it.
