Babies are allowed and climate-controlled halls help, yet narrow stairs hinder strollers and no listed changing or nursing rooms means parents must carry and improvise, so the visit is workable but not effortless.
Why 2-3 hours visit duration is ideal for with baby: Allows time for ground-floor exhibits, live demos, and breaks with your baby.
Self-Guided Ground-Floor Tour:
Turn cranks and press levers on interactive models on the ground level.
Tip: Stay on the ground floor to avoid stairs with your stroller.
Live Demonstrations:
Watch water clocks and steam automata in action.
Tip: Check demo times at the entrance and arrive 5 minutes early for best views.
Courtyard Break:
Relax in the open-air courtyard to feed or soothe your baby.
Tip: Pack a small blanket; the courtyard benches are shaded.
Upper-Level Café:
Enjoy coffee and snacks on the terrace level.
Tip: Use this quiet spot for a baby feeding; check café hours before your visit.
Souvenir Shop:
Browse simple replica toys like mini catapults or sundials.
Tip: Look for baby-safe items under €10.
Visit on a hot day to enjoy the air-conditioned galleries. In summer, aim for morning hours when it’s quieter.

We really enjoyed this museum – small but very interesting. We visited it in less than an hour but stayed another half hour upstairs playing with the fun logic games. Most exhibits actually work, and the staff is very dedicated, friendly and happy to explain and demonstrate. The building itself is impressive, from the Venetian period. A lovely experience, highly recommended!

Fascinating museum full of gadgets, devices, machines, games and a ‘robot’ that really open your eyes to how advanced the Greeks were back in their day. Helpful, enthusiastic staff perform demonstrations and show how some of this tech worked. Had to buy the book showing everything that is displayed in detail as there was a lot of information to take in. I would say 1 to 1,5 hours should cover it u...

Two floor museum able to be seen in 45-60 minutes, with very interesting view of Ancient Greek technology (particularly between 6th and 3rd centuries BC). Most displays include information about a specific invention, including how it worked, when it was invented, and a visual of what it looked like (model, recreation, or video). Though none of the items are from the time period it was a good way t...

Cool and unique museum. Very helpful staff who gave very good and informed explanations and demonstrations. The ancient Greeks really came up with so many scientific, mathematical and technological inventions e.g. the first alarm clock and the first robot. Nice to see a display cabinet on Hippocrates and Galen.

Fantastic and unique small museum! Not your typical museum. This one concentrates on Greek technology, and there are some surprises there too! Lots of well crafted and displayed artifacts, many of which are interactive. Some of these should be done by the docent but it is not clearly signed as such. Ellie was a great docent and made the visit special. They also have a cafe upstairs with food...
