What makes it 63% Kids-Friendly: Children are welcome and can hunt colors or icons during a 15-minute stop, but there are no interactive exhibits, play areas, or toilets, so boredom rises if parents stretch the visit.
Why 1-2 hours visit duration is ideal for with kids: Short, interactive activities keep children engaged without overwhelming them.
Treasure Hunt Around the Nave:
Ask kids to spot three stained-glass colors, count the chandeliers and find the skull of Saint Titus.
Tip: Give each child a simple list before entering to keep them focused for 15–20 minutes.
Story Time by the Font:
Sit on a bench outside and tell the adventure of Saint Titus, Crete’s first bishop.
Tip: Bring a children’s picture book or draw simple sketches to make the story vivid.
Pick a Souvenir:
Let each child choose a keychain or postcard from the small gift stand.
Tip: Set a €3 budget per child to teach decision-making and keep costs low.

It is one of the known places in Heraklion , very nice and peaceful small church but architecture was not very ancient. Not air conditioned .

Magnificent cathedral that is definitely worth seeing. Very well maintained, allowing for a brief moment of tranquilly. Remembering that this is a place of prayer is crucial, and you should dress and behave appropriately. The area around the cathedral is also really charming; there's a beautiful square where you may unwind and listen to the soft splashing of the fountain.
Avoid Tuesdays when the cathedral is closed. In summer, enjoy the cool interior refuge from midday heat. In winter, check closing times as the church may close by 7 PM.
