It is one of the known places in Heraklion , very nice and peaceful small church but architecture was not very ancient. Not air conditioned .

Magnificent cathedral that is definitely worth seeing. Very well maintained, allowing for a brief moment of tranquilly. Remembering that this is a place of prayer is crucial, and you should dress and behave appropriately. The area around the cathedral is also really charming; there's a beautiful square where you may unwind and listen to the soft splashing of the fountain.
In summer, arrive early to enjoy the shaded square before midday heat. In winter, call ahead since closing times may be as early as 6 PM.
