What makes it 41% Baby-Friendly: You can reach shaded benches with a carrier, but strollers snag on uneven stones, toilets lack changing tables, and there is no nursing room, making visits short and gear-heavy for caregivers.
Note: Aqueduct of Agia Irini is 41% Baby-Friendly. You may want to consider other Baby-Friendly Things to Do in Heraklion for a more suitable experience.
Why 1-2 hours visit duration is ideal for with baby: A brief stop allows for a viewpoint walk and baby care breaks without tiring your child.
Viewpoint at Agia Irini church:
Walk 200 m from the parking layby to the church overlook above the aqueduct.
Tip: Use a baby carrier for the uneven path and snap photos under the arches.
Shaded bench feeding area:
Benches beside the church park offer shade and a flat spot to feed or change your baby.
Tip: Bring a portable changing mat and disinfectant wipes.
Arch view photo stop:
Stand beneath the nearest arch for a close-up of the moss-covered stones.
Tip: Keep one hand on your baby and choose stable ground for photos.

This acqueduct dates back to the Romans, however, the Egyptians had an incursion to Crete in the 1800's (1830-40's) and they built a second layer or tier and repaired the Roman remainder. This allowed them to bring more water to Heraklion from interior springs at Fountana and Miliara. Egypt, at the time, was a suzerainty of the Ottoman Empire. I won't detail the specifics but the Empire declined...

Amazing construction, with a lot of birds living nearby.

Seemed to house a lot of birds, definitely recommend climbing to the upper level and all the way to the peak

Easy to find and a quick stop after visiting the Palace of Knossos. Combine it with a trip and it works out great. And it's free to look at.

Beautiful views. If you drive a little pas the aqueduct, there’s a place to park and a nice little walk where you can walk past a church up to the top of the aqueduct. There’s also a nice trail by a gorge as well.
Visit in spring or autumn to avoid summer heat. After winter rains, small waterfalls upstream offer extra scenery—watch footing on wet stones.
