What makes it 84% Solo-Friendly: The garden lets a solo visitor wander peaceful, signed trails for free and offers benches, but limited shelter and early closing hours restrict long stays.
Why 2-3 hours visit duration is ideal for solo trip: This timeframe lets you walk main trails, pause at the pond café and join a quick workshop without rushing.
Themed self-guided trail:
Follow the marked paths through bamboo, medicinal-herb and Mediterranean plant sections.
Tip: Pick up a garden map at the entrance or download the PDF before to navigate sections with ease.
Koi pond circuit:
Cross stepping stones over the lily pond and watch koi feeding.
Tip: Visit at sunrise for soft light and fewer visitors.
Morning jog among Aleppo pines:
Use the flat, 2 km track for running or brisk walking.
Tip: Scan the route on the map and stay on marked track to avoid undergrowth.
Sketch & journal bench:
Sit near rose beds or the koi pond for drawing or writing.
Tip: Bring a small sketchbook and pens; benches fill up by midday.
Hands-on plant workshop:
Join a 30-minute nursery workshop or plant ID session.

One of Athens hidden secrets. This garden is a vibrant, peaceful escape. The collection of plants is stunning, and the different plant zones make for an interesting and educational visit. Highly recommend visiting for instant tranquility!

Huge fenced in park. Part of it has species of plants from all over the world, labeled in Greek and Latin. Part of it is natural forest. There is a wildlife conservation area, play areas for kids, and a memorial monument. We had a long, delightful walk in the shady forest listening to cicadas and birds. Close to the entry there is noise from the road. There is a large café with a nice playground...

A truly wonderful place! Very well kept, safe and peaceful. Highly recommend you take your own drinks etc, there’s a cafe besides the garden, but not accessible from within. Book online before you go - they allow 300 people at a time.

This is a beautiful garden! The flower garden area is especially lovely, the useful herbs, bamboo, fruit trees, pines, cypress, etc. are all marvelous. The variety of plants and trees is enormous, from every part of the world, and all are labeled with the scientific name in Latin and Greek, as well as the Greek common name.
Reserve free tickets online even in low season. In spring (April–May) the rose varieties bloom—bring a hat for sun. Summer afternoons get hot; start before 10 AM and refill water at fountains. Closed mid-July to end-August for maintenance—check dates. Autumn brings crisp air and colorful foliage on woodland trails.
