We went on one of the Thursday evening late openings, so it’s free from 7pm - midnight. It’s the perfect location to spend a few hours wandering around the galleries. The bookshop is superb. We arrived around 9:45pm hoping to get a drink but the bar/cafe was closing. When you exit the gallery, turn left, walk a few metres up the street and you will get a great view of the Eiffel Tower, we timed...

Cute venue with plenty of space and comfortable seating in the gallery, perfect for resting between exhibitions. There’s also a nice restaurant nearby. In August 2025, we enjoyed only 2 of the 5 exhibitions. The venue had no air conditioning, which could be uncomfortable on hot days.

Palais de Tokyo was originally built for the 1937 Paris World’s Fair, and its name comes from the street it once faced—Avenue de Tokyo. Today, it’s one of the most exciting places to see bold and experimental contemporary art. I really loved how open and free the whole space felt—it doesn’t feel like a typical museum at all. Just being there sparks your curiosity.

But remember - you will have to think hours wise while you’re planning on going there - one hour is not enough time to see the pieces there. After having a good time in the museum you might get a bit hungry, but no worries! There’s a restaurant in the building an...
