What makes it 86% Solo-Friendly: A solo visitor can freely explore architecture, pray, join weekday Adoration or evening concerts, and does not depend on extra facilities, so the basilica meets solo needs well despite limited on-site services.
Why 2-3 hours visit duration is ideal for solo trip: Allows time for a self-guided tour, daytime Adoration, and an optional crypt visit or concert.
Self-guided architecture tour:
Walk the nave and side chapels to study the romano-byzantine design and view the 1988 Laval Thivolle organ casing.
Tip: Pick up a leaflet at the entrance for key details.
Eucharistic Adoration:
Join silent prayer any day except Sunday between 09:00 and 19:00.
Tip: Arrive mid-morning for a calm atmosphere.
Crypt prayer meeting:
Attend the Renouveau Charismatique on Tuesdays after the 19:00 Mass in the crypt until 22:00.
Tip: Stay after Mass and bring a light jacket—crypts can be cool.
Philharmonic Choir concert:
Catch a performance by the Chœur Philharmonique de Marseille (tickets €15–20).
Tip: Book online during the Sacrée Musique festival for best availability.

When you once notice this basilica at first sight it looks like an ordinary middle century architectural style building, but when you enter inside it can impress you with its absolutely stunning interior with many details. Unfortunately it is not open every day. The only time I found it opened was an early morning.

What an adventure to get there but the view is splendid. Completely worth it !

I give this church five stars. It’s a church deserving of five stars. It has nice arches, and from the pictures you can definitely appreciate the arches in the architecture.

A must, IMO. Not just the church but the whole Montmartre area. Wonderful view. Great little restaurants/shops and artists working outdoor. Go down the hill from the village and discover more boutiques and a great little artist neighborhood

On top of the hill with a marvellous view of Paris. Worth a visit. Crazily busy on weekends.
Visit in October–November during the Sacrée Musique festival for candlelit concerts.
