What makes it 80% Baby-Friendly: Stroller-friendly alleys, benches and calm lakeside air suit infants, yet toilets lack built-in changing tables and no nursing room is on site, so parents must bring pads and plan feeds.
Why 1-2 hours visit duration is ideal for with baby: This lets you cover stroller paths, the zoo, greenhouse and a lakeside picnic without rushing.
Stroller-Friendly Stroll:
Follow the wide paved alleys shaded by mature trees right from the gate.
Tip: Bring a sunshade or umbrella for extra shade in summer.
Explore Botanical Greenhouses:
Push your stroller along covered paths through tropical and alpine pavilions.
Tip: Visit rainy or hot days to stay dry and cool.
Visit Free-Entry Zoo:
Walk flat paths through savanna and forest zones to see deer and monkeys.
Tip: Use a baby carrier for tight spots and get eye-level views of animals.
Picnic by the Lake Benches:
Settle at fixed tables and benches near the shore for snacks.
Tip: Buy fresh pastries at a kiosk and enjoy water views while baby rests.

An absolute must do if you’re visiting Lyon. For my fellow Americans this is equivalent to Central Park in New York. I’ve never been to such a well maintained and beautiful park before in my life. There’s a rose garden, a free zoo, volleyball court, botanical garden, mini lake for boating and of course plenty of places for a lovely picnic

This “Porte” houses one of the nicest carrousels I have seen given it is themed with jungle animals (which I beleive was linked to the zoo next door). My daughter rode on tigers 🐅 monkeys 🐒 ostriches and in a safari car 🛻. Worth checking it out.
In summer, aim for early morning or late afternoon to avoid midday heat under the trees. In winter, layer up and use greenhouses for warmth.
