What makes it 76% Baby-Friendly: Elevators and ramps accept strollers and free changing tables exist, yet there is no private nursing room and fragile artifacts demand quiet, so parents must plan feeds and supervision carefully.
Why 2-3 hours visit duration is ideal for with baby: Allows time to explore exhibits, take breaks for feeding and stroller walks without rushing.
Descend the Spiral Ramp:
Walk down the museum’s spiral ramp to see layers of Gallo-Roman artifacts in order.
Tip: Use the stroller-friendly ramp to keep the baby comfortable on each level.
Roman Theatre Ruins:
Explore the flat, open-air theater site next door.
Tip: Bring the pram for a smooth walk and pause at shaded spots for fresh air.
Visit the Claudius Bronze Plate:
See the museum’s highlight: the inscribed bronze plate of Emperor Claudius.
Tip: Stand at the low display case edge so you can show details to the baby up close.
Use Baby Facilities:
Take advantage of the on-site changing table in the restroom.
Tip: Ask staff for the quiet corner near the office if you need a private nursing spot.
In summer, visit early to avoid heat on the outdoor ruins. In winter, spend more time indoors where it’s warm.

Wasn't sure what to expect when walking in but this was an amazingly informative museum. It traced the history of Lyon very well and presented all the artifacts with great details. Expect to spend at least 2 hours if you want to read everything and a lot of it is in English too. Highly recommend not skipping this.

Very nice museum. The building itself is very interesting, built like a bunker. The contents are also very interesting there are a lot of really amazing artifacts. They have a lot of kid stuff so it seems to be one of the most family friendly museums I have seen. Would highly recommend visiting. Water fountain with nice cold water on the 5th floor

Such a beautiful and detailed museum! We were able to go in for free and the audio guides were also free which was an unexpected bonus. Perfect place to hide out from the heat for a few hours.

In a word: stunning. The museum holds many very important works of art from the early Roman Empire, some without parallel anywhere else. Admission is free for students and seniors, and for all others, the ticket cost is low. Audio guides are free and available in many languages. The museum itself, carefully hidden inside a hill, is a marvel of modern architecture. This should be a thorough visit b...

You street at the top which is basically chrome level and you work your way down over 5 levels. Plenty of space and really easy to move around. So many pieces to look at. I was surprised at how well preserved ...
