Basilique Saint-Michel (couple trip)

Featuring a soaring freestanding bell tower that reaches 114 meters in height. This historic site is known for its intricate stone carvings, vibrant stained glass windows, and a significant 19th-century organ located within its spacious interior. The surrounding square remains a lively hub of activity, hosting regular markets and offering a variety of local cafes for visitors to enjoy.

Went on a Sunday when it was closing at 7:00pm. Did not get in but it was a beauty of a structure! Walking there after dark needed a little caution though as it was quite quiet this side of the bridge.

The church is currently under restoration. I will have to come back to see the results. The architecture is beautiful.

Wonderful work in progress to restore/recreate this Basilica still bearing the marks of WW2 (and more than a bit of neglect I suspect).
