What makes it 68% Kids-Friendly: Kids can race full circles, build sandcastles and reach a deer park in minutes, but the low edge drops straight into water so adults must keep close watch and consider life vests.
Why 2-3 hours visit duration is ideal for with kids: 2-3 hours lets you walk the loop, play on the beach, enjoy a picnic, and visit the deer park.
Nature Scavenger Hunt:
Walk the full circle and look for wave-washed planks, seabirds, and smooth stones.
Tip: Give kids a simple checklist and small bag to collect finds.
Beach Play and Sandcastles:
Run in shallow water and build sandcastles at Ballehage Beach beside the bridge.
Tip: Bring a bucket and spade; the sand is smooth and easy to shape.
Picnic at Varna Strand:
Use the free wooden tables or a blanket on the grass for a beachside meal.
Tip: Pack sandwiches and fruit, or buy ice cream and hot dogs from nearby carts (DKK 25–40 each).
Marselisborg Deer Park Visit:
Walk 5 minutes to the fenced woods and feed tame deer with carrots or apples.
Tip: Bring chopped veggies; deer roam close to the fence and kids can pet them.

Beautiful. Wonderful. Take the Bus from the City Center, find the Bridge either along the shore or after a stroll through the nearby forest. A fantastic sight from the Bridge!

I went there twice during my stay and it is a must if you’re discovering the area. Very peaceful, you can sit anywhere you like. A bit less pleasant where there is a lot of people on the bridge thought. Bring your swimsuit!
The bridge is installed from April to October. Water is warmer in summer for paddling. Bring a jacket in spring or fall. Check weather before you go.
