What makes it 85% Kids-Friendly: Kids under 1.2 m enter free, can touch skeletons in the education hall and ride the adjacent mini-train; flat loops ease stroller use, but summer heat and big crowds mean parents must stay alert.
Why 2-3 hours visit duration is ideal for with kids: Covers key animal pavilions and allows time for a quick play session at the Children’s Park without over-tiring the kids.
Giant Panda Pavilion:
Watch pandas munch bamboo through wide glass windows under shaded walkways.
Tip: Go early to catch active feeding behaviors before the midday nap.
Science Education Center:
Explore interactive displays of skeletons and habitat models.
Tip: Let older kids press buttons and touch exhibits to keep them engaged.
Elephant and Giraffe Halls:
See Asian elephants bathe and giraffes roam in open-air enclosures.
Tip: Bring a small binocular so kids can spot details from the elevated viewing deck.
Children’s Park Rides:
Enjoy mini-train, carousel and bumper cars just outside the zoo entrance.
Tip: Buy ride tokens early; lines build after 11 AM on weekends.
Parrot Feeding Station:
Purchase seed packets to hand-feed colorful parrots in the aviary.
Tip: Ask staff for the freshest seed and supervise younger children closely.

This destination is truly phenomenal and an awesome place to visit, renowned not only among locals in China but also attracting visitors from other provinces and foreign tourists. It boasts a diverse array of animals, including elephants, cheetahs, lions, giraffes, zebras, and monkeys, making it a must-see for wildlife enthusiasts. One of the highlights of the visit is the spectacular dolphin show...
Wandering in Paradise
Nice zoo with plenty of animals: pandas, lions, tigers, bears, panthers, leopards, cobras, sea turtles, and way more. Takes a good 3 hours to cover everywhere. There are lots of snacks and food for sale as well. Great place to bring children. Would recommend!

A lovely walk through some gorgeous enclosures however was v unhappy with the size and state of some of the enclosures. A clear disparity between the good and the bad. The red panda enclosure was amazing but most of the rest of them weren't. Upsetting to see.
Visit in spring (March–May) or autumn (September–October) for milder weather. Avoid midday sun in summer by taking a shaded break near the Panda Pavilion.
