What makes it 76% Baby-Friendly: Babies are allowed and mother-and-child rooms, diaper tables, and wide stroller paths help parents, but cobblestones, crowds, and few shaded rest areas lower overall comfort.
Why 1-2 days visit duration is ideal for with baby: One full day lets you explore canals, performances and rest facilities at a relaxed pace with a baby.
Canal-side Stroll:
Walk wide, paved paths beside the waterways to see stone bridges and willow trees.
Tip: Use a lightweight stroller to move freely along the smooth paths.
Evening Light Shows:
Catch free nightly light-and-shadow performances in the central square.
Tip: Arrive 10 minutes early to find a spot where the baby can sit in the stroller.
Internal Electric Cart Ride:
Hop on the one-way cart to cover long distances without tiring little legs.
Tip: Buy tickets at the Tourist Service Center; children under 1.5 m ride half price.
Mother & Child Room:
Use the free private room for breastfeeding and diaper changes.
Tip: Locate it inside the five-star standard restrooms near the entrance.

Timing matters! As others have noted if you come on weekday, it will be quite. On weekends it’ll be bustling. We came in a Friday night and it was fairly quiet, but when we left Saturday evening there were so many people and activities - so please plan around this. It’s worthwhile coming imo, it’s no too far from beijing, and the Great Wall is excellent as well. Stay overnight atleast as there i...

Gubei Water Town is a ghost town. Don't waste your time and money coming here unless all you want to do is to hike up the Simatai Great Wall. There were free performances throughout the day at different locations in the water town but they were mostly a disappointment, with the drone show being the exception. It's not spectacular but it's good enough to end a boring day trip to Gubei Water Town. ...

The place also has some exhibitions and performances. There is a lot to expe...

The self-buy computers were not well translated and it was confusing, so we had to queue up and waited for 10 minutes to buy tickets. The town itself is pretty, despite it is man-made. The views are cute and many places to buy food and souvenirs, though expensive. Highly...
Visit in spring or autumn for mild weather. Light shows run nightly March through October. Avoid mid-summer crowds and midday heat for the baby.
