What makes it 61% Kids-Friendly: Open lawns and gardens give kids room to play and matinee films add variety, yet most spaces are designed for students, so long visits may bore children and parents must watch traffic and ponds.
Why 2-3 hours visit duration is ideal for with kids: 2–3 hours lets your family explore the gardens, picnic on The Quad, join a tour, and catch a film without rushing.
Finnerty Gardens:
Follow wide, paved paths through rhododendron and azalea plantings.
Tip: Bring a stroller or wagon; benches along the route offer rest spots.
The Quad games & picnic:
Let kids run, fly kites, or play ball on the open central lawn beneath large trees.
Tip: Pack a picnic or grab takeaway from campus cafés; find shade under the trees.
Campus community garden workshop:
Join Friday sessions from 2–4 pm to plant and harvest with local gardeners.
Tip: Register online in advance; wear clothes you don’t mind getting dirty.
Children’s matinee at Cinecenta:
Catch weekend family-friendly films in the on-campus cinema (about CAD 10 per ticket).
Tip: Buy tickets online ahead; arrive early to choose seats and theater snacks.
Kid-friendly campus tour:
Book a free student-led tour that highlights science labs and art studios for curious kids.
Tip: Ask the guide to include hands-on stops; reserve your family spot at least a week ahead.

I am not a student but my Dad went to Law school here. When he passed we planted a tree in his honor and hung a plaque with his name and his degrees. Thank you for allowing us to do this for his legacy

Really pretty and nice campus! Live how bike accessible and green it is. Makes it more enjoyable to take in the lovely weather.

We liked the campus but the tour guide did the opposite of selling us for the school. She was a little confusing and we didn't like how the gym is open to the public. Also we don't like how low of a chance there is for students to stay on campus after their first year.
In May–June, Finnerty Gardens bursts with rhododendron blooms—ideal for family photos. In fall and winter, campus paths can get wet and muddy; pack raincoats and waterproof shoes.
