What makes it 74% Couple-Friendly: Finnerty Gardens, quad picnics and low-cost theatre create a relaxed date setting, but most buildings close early and on-campus dining is sparse, so evening romance choices are limited.
Why 2-3 hours visit duration is ideal for couple trip: Allows time to stroll Finnerty Gardens, enjoy a picnic on The Quad and explore Mystic Vale at a relaxed pace.
Finnerty Gardens stroll:
Walk along paved paths through 1,500 rhododendrons and azaleas.
Tip: Start at the main gate on Ring Road and follow the loop clockwise to return easily.
Picnic on The Quad:
Spread a blanket under tall trees beside the campus totem poles.
Tip: Grab sandwiches and drinks from the Student Union Building café before heading out.
Mystic Vale self-guided walk:
Explore a shaded ravine with creek views and Douglas-fir forest.
Tip: Wear sturdy shoes for the 39-step descent and carry water; trails get muddy after rain.
Legacy Art Galleries visit:
Browse rotating Canadian, Indigenous and international art exhibits.
Tip: Check gallery hours (Wed–Sat, 10 am–4 pm) and include the downtown venue for extra displays.
Cinecenta independent film:
Catch an indie film screening at the campus cinema.

I am not a student but my Dad went to Law school here. When he passed we planted a tree in his honor and hung a plaque with his name and his degrees. Thank you for allowing us to do this for his legacy

Really pretty and nice campus! Live how bike accessible and green it is. Makes it more enjoyable to take in the lovely weather.

We liked the campus but the tour guide did the opposite of selling us for the school. She was a little confusing and we didn't like how the gym is open to the public. Also we don't like how low of a chance there is for students to stay on campus after their first year.
Visit in late May for peak rhododendron blooms in Finnerty Gardens. Summer offers extended daylight for evening walks. In fall, Mystic Vale displays colorful leaves. Winters can be wet—bring waterproof shoes.
