What makes it 65% Baby-Friendly: Families with babies can drive to a stroller-friendly lookout and grassy picnic lawn, but no change table, no nursing room, and uneven summit trails limit comfort and duration of the visit.
Why 2-3 hours visit duration is ideal for with baby: Gives time to drive up, stroll paved paths, picnic on the grassy beach area, and spot wildlife without rushing your baby.
Summit Drive & Stroller Loop:
Drive up Churchill Drive after 12 pm and walk the flat, paved loop at the summit.
Tip: Use a sturdy stroller and arrive after noon to avoid steep hikes.
Lower Trail Stroll:
Walk the paved park road or easy coastal trails near the beach parking lot.
Tip: These paths suit all-terrain strollers; bring a carrier for gravel sections.
Beach Picnic & Rest:
Set up on the grassy picnic area by the lower parking lot for snacks and baby naps.
Tip: Bring a portable changing mat; washrooms lack baby-change stations.
Seals & Bird Watching:
Point out harbor seals, waterfowl and other wildlife from flat viewpoints.
Tip: Bring binoculars to share views with your baby.

Stunning views of the city, surrounding island and far horizon. Multiple parking options, with a free one even close to the summit. If you wish to hike, you can park in a lot at lower elevation and make your way up to the summit. We went mid October and parking was plenty. Highly recommended.

Lovely hike! We took Whittaker, Harrop, and Glendenning trails to reach the summit. Hikers should be aware of loose sandy gravel on portions of the trail, but on the whole it was a lovely hike with a beautiful summit!

Its a hard drive (on the engine and brakes coming down) as it is steep to access. You can of course hike it, if you are very fit. At the top, a parking lot lies about 100 yards from the viewpoint at the top. On the top, you have views in all directions and map of sorts that shows you the way to Vancouver, Seattle, Mt Baker, to name a few. Lively Arbutus between the parking lot and top.

If you've got the stamina and you want to make the walk, the views from the peak peak are incredible. Great place to fly your drone so long as you are a decent pilot and can navigate your takeoff and landings within densely treed areas. Even if you don't fly a drone once you get to the peak you have a phenomenal view to take plenty of photos with your camera or cell phone. I freaking love Victoria
In summer, summit parking fills quickly after noon—plan a late afternoon drive. In rainy seasons, use a stroller rain cover and waterproof gear.
