What makes it 67% Baby-Friendly: Smooth paths suit strollers and shady benches ease feeding breaks, but washrooms lack change tables and unfenced water means constant vigilance with crawlers.
Why 2-3 hours visit duration is ideal for with baby: Allows time for a leisurely garden stroll, picnic break, stroller-friendly paths and a quick Nature House visit at a baby’s pace.
Japanese Garden stroll:
Walk under the Torii gate, cross the wooden bridge and pause by the reflection pond.
Tip: Go in the morning when koi are most active and the paths are less crowded.
Riverside stroller walk:
Follow the paved path along the Gorge Waterway past the Pavilion and gardens.
Tip: Choose the flat west-side route; it stays dry after light rain and is smooth for strollers.
Picnic on the lawn:
Spread a blanket on the shaded grass near the gardens or water’s edge.
Tip: Pack soft foods and a waterproof blanket to keep your baby comfortable on damp grass.
Rest on shaded benches:
Use the benches under trees by the Pavilion and garden edges.
Tip: These spots are perfect for feeding, napping breaks or just a calm moment with your baby.
Visit the Nature House:
Explore the touch tank and interactive watershed models.
Tip: Call ahead to confirm stroller access and current open hours.

This park is so lovely! City staff do a great job with upkeep. There is lots of parking (including disabled spot and EV charging), picnic tables for small and large groups, lighting, playground, washrooms and water fountains, a paved walking path along the water with benches for sitting and taking in the view of wildlife or people on the water, and even a beach. Swimming not really recommend here ...

It has been a while since I have visited Gorge and I was pleasantly surprised how beautiful it was it is. Many different areas to chose from to have a picnic, walk the dog, open fields to play games, walk along the water and many more options to choose from. Great for kids and it is well maintained enhancing the scenery.
