The Sutton Place Hotel Vancouver (solo trip)

Rooms were good, service not. Everyone was friendly on surface-level, but there was no welcoming atmosphere at all. Nobody offered their help with our luggage or explained anything to us during the check-in. Check-in was just about handing us keys and us paying the deposit. Very old-school and kind of snobby vibe. You can’t get a better location to downtown than this. Every interaction with staff was with a smile. Even with how busy the lobby was (cruise ship departing), the hotel was buzzing but quiet. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay. Cesar was wonderful and I thank him for making my 5 night stay as comfortable as possible.

We had a couple trips planned across the country and had booked the Sutton Place in Halifax first, then Vancouver. I stayed for three nights and four days. The lobby is often crowded, so you may have to wait. However, the hotel staff are very friendly. There's a parking sign on the left side of the hotel, and self-parking is available. (I paid a total of CA$205 for 3 nights.) My room #723 was clean and offered a great city view. The sofa and table by the window were very nice, and the night view was beautiful...

An amazing first class experience. The bellman, valet, and check-in were very kind to us despite our tired traveler state. The pet friendly suite was immaculate and comfortable. If we ever needed anything I had immediate and competent service. Checking in and out was easy and quick. I loved staying here and will be booking a much longer stay the next time we're in Vancouver. Worth every penny.
