Hands-on insect workshops, Biodome animal spotting and kid-aimed planetarium films keep ages 5–12 engaged all day; child tickets, stroller paths and washrooms help, but long lines may test patience.
Why 1-2 days visit duration is ideal for with kids: Allows time to explore each museum at a relaxed pace and join scheduled shows and workshops.
Biodome Animal Spotting:
Walk through tropical rainforest, polar and marine ecosystems to see penguins, sloths and lynx.
Tip: Arrive early to watch penguins at feeding time before crowds.
Butterflies Go Free:
Enter a heated greenhouse filled with free-flying butterflies and interactive stations.
Tip: Bring a small net for kids to observe butterflies up close during Feb–Apr.
Insectarium Workshops:
Join hands-on sessions to learn about beetles, ants and live insects.
Tip: Check the daily schedule on arrival and book the first workshop slot.
Planetarium Kids’ Show:
Watch “Aboard the SSE-4801,” a beginner space journey in English or French.
Tip: Reserve tickets online for showtimes to get seats together.
Spring (Feb–Apr): don’t miss Butterflies Go Free; Summer: free shuttle between greenhouses; Autumn: Firefly Night at the Biodome; Winter: Gardens of Light lantern walk.

We love Space for life ! We come every week for the past 7 years! I used to park my car under the ground when my daughter was younger! The only problem is the parking ticket is getting more and more expensive! I wish that Space for life can offer parking for members with a reduced price!

I recommend buying the annual pass if you plan to visit all 5 attractions as it will will save you alot of money rather than buying separate tickets 🎫

A breathtaking greenhouse with literally hundreds of plants from all over the world. I was in awe the whole time at the amount and variety of fauna in this one building. Overall, I would highly recommend coming here if you are already checking out the Botanical Gardens.

This is such a great place to walk around and observe nature and be in the moment. So much to explore and learn, fun for the kids and family trips! The staff were kind and it was easy to find facilities.

Can’t even think of the right words to describe how beautiful my experience was here! My boyfriend and I came here on a whim, as I always enjoy checking out nurseries and plant shops when traveling. SO happy we came in! Only a portion of the museum was closed off due to weather/temperature, but we were still able to go in most of the greenhouses. Pictures do not even do this place justice.
