What makes it 80% Baby-Friendly: Parents with babies can push strollers on smooth Olmsted Path, use Beaver Lake Pavilion changing tables and cafés for breaks, but steep lookout stairs and the lack of dedicated nursing rooms lower overall convenience.
Why 2-3 hours visit duration is ideal for with baby: Allows time for a relaxed stroller-friendly walk, playground play, and café break without rushing the baby.
Stroll Chemin Olmsted:
Follow the paved loop from Beaver Lake to Smith House and the Chalet.
Tip: Use a stroller on this flat path and follow signs to avoid steep sections.
Play at Salamander Playground:
Let your baby enjoy swings and the splash pad near Beaver Lake.
Tip: Bring a swim diaper and a change of clothes for splash pad fun.
Visit Beaver Lake Pavilion:
Use free changing tables and indoor seating for feeding or breaks.
Tip: Ask staff for a quiet corner if you need privacy for nursing.
Download Family Nature Immersion Guide:
Pick up a free guide with simple sensory activities for babies.
Tip: Collect the guide at the welcome centre or download before arrival.

We hiked to the top of Mount Royal and although it didn’t take that long, it’s a good workout to get to the top. Great views of downtown Montreal. There’s a snack bar, gift shop and bathrooms at the top. We also visited the Mount Royal Cross.

first time visiting Montreal & this is an amazing park / trail to visit. There are a lot of runners / cyclists / walkers / etc. on the trail so use caution when walking along the paths. Roads are paved with gravel & dirt so wear comfortable shoes !

It was a bad winter time we went there. The hike to the top of the mount was really tough but the view is marvellous. Best time to visit is anytime but storm time :-P. There is a cute shop at the top where we can use the washroom or have a snack and coffee.

Visited Mount Royal and loved it. We went up to the viewpoint to see the city, amazing views. Also walked around Beaver Lake, really peaceful spot. Great place to relax and take in Montreal.

A beautiful urban mountain climb, rich foliage, easy smooth roads and pathways. There are some side paths with a bit more extreme hiking but mostly it’s a nice easy ride up the mountain for a family adventure, a bike ride, or a morning jog. The Pavilion and plaza at the top are graced with an excellent view of the city
Spring–summer: enjoy the splash pad and mild temperatures. Fall: see colorful maple leaves. Winter: many paths get icy—check trail conditions or use a baby carrier.
