What makes it 90% Kids-Friendly: Children up to 12 have a playground, splash pad, wading pool and sports fields; all are free and gated, but no on-site lifeguard after hours so parents must supervise closely.
Why 2-3 hours visit duration is ideal for with kids: Plenty of time for water play, playground fun, sports, and a picnic without tiring young children.
Water Play Zone:
Splash pad and wading pool for kids to cool off and build sand-and-water castles.
Tip: Bring swimsuits, towels, and change of clothes; water play open daily from 6 am–midnight.
Playground Structures:
Two separate areas with slides and climbing frames for toddlers and older children.
Tip: Visit early to avoid peak crowds; supervise toddlers near the climbing nets.
Picnic near Mount Royal View:
Shaded picnic tables near Place Fletcher’s Field offer views of Mount Royal.
Tip: Pack snacks or take-out; grab a table under trees before midday when spots fill up.
Sports Fields:
Artificial turf soccer field and a baseball diamond for informal family games.
Tip: Bring your own ball and gloves; use off-peak hours for the most open space.
Natural Ice Rinks:
Open-air skating rinks in winter with a heated changing trailer.
Tip: Bring your own skates and warm gloves; check rink conditions on the Montreal website.

Great and very popular park for a picnic and sports like baseball, volleyball, soccer and football. It has excellent playgrounds for kids and a public bathroom.
The Nuke
Good space to chill and rejuvenate. Enjoy the vast lawns and the trail to mont royal! Great space if you have kids and/or pets. Almost a good area for picnics too.

I was sad to see so much destruction in this lovely park one of the few places that has lines of trees around the edges and open green spaces in the middle. Only a few were completely uprooted, most were brunches that had broken off. Dispute this people were out as the sun was shining

Fun place for young children (under 8). Many choices of play grounds.. and a chance to discover your fun. This park got many trees, so many shades too. Also there are few picnic tables too

Lovely, shaded playground at the foot of Mount Royal. Older kids playground with lots of unique climbing including a large web tower and heavy rope bridge. Fun circle swing and nice old trees surround the playground. Younger kids playground is entirely fenced (a few gates) with several small areas for sand play, climbing and spinning equipment. Nearby toilets make it a perfect afternoon spot. Smal...
Summer: pack swim gear and towels. Winter: bring skates, boots, and extra layers. Spring/fall: wear boots as paths can be muddy after rain.
