How Baby-Friendly is Train World?

What makes it 62% Baby-Friendly: Stroller routes are smooth and a free accessible baby-changing table exists, but no dedicated nursing room, no stroller storage and loud sound effects can unsettle some babies, so visits need planning.

Positives:

  • Stroller-friendly layout: Wide halls, level floors, and an elevator make it easy to move a stroller.
  • Free baby admission: Children under 6 enter free, so your baby visits at no cost.

Challenges:

  • No dedicated baby play area: There is no toddler zone outside special Family Days events.
  • No indoor eating: Eating and drinking are prohibited inside; plan snacks outside.
  • Limited nursing space: No private lactation room; ask staff for a quiet corner if needed.

Lovely museum with trains ranging from the old times till the latest. There are so many types of them and in some coaches you can even go inside! Fantastic history. Fun place for both adults and the kids! Takes around 2-3 hours to see in peace! Definitely recommended!

An amazing experience for everyone, from families with children, couples or solo travellers. This museum is definitely worth the visit, with its huge collection of locomotives, models, and trivia of the Belgian railway system. I highly recommend the Type 12 train - you won’t miss it, it’s absolutely stunning, green and is undoubtedly the central focus of the museum. I was in awe at how huge it was...

One of the best museums we visited with our kids. So many trains! You can get in many locomotives and wagons. So many information about trains and railway “life”. We spent there about 2 hours and a half. There is also a simulation of train control.

When is the best time to visit Train World (Brussels, Belgium)?

In warm months, take a break in the nearby green space and playground outside the station. Pack snacks for after your visit since eating inside is not allowed.
