What makes it 74% Kids-Friendly: Children can climb the pavilion, run on wide sand, or use the big seaside playground, and free toilets are close, yet parents must supervise closely on unfenced dunes and steep stairs.
Why 3-5 hours visit duration is ideal for with kids: Allows time to climb the dune, play on the beach, visit the playground, and try mini-golf without rushing.
Climb Spioenkop viewpoint:
Reach the top via dune paths for a 360° view of sea and polder.
Tip: Use sturdy shoes and carry water; trails can be steep for kids.
Beach play and shell collecting:
Wide sandy beach perfect for sandcastles and kite-flying.
Tip: Bring buckets and spades; use outdoor showers to rinse off sand.
Astridpark playground:
Separate zones for ages 1–6 and 6–12 with slides and swings.
Tip: Visit late afternoon for cooler temperatures and fewer kids.
Mini-golf at Astridpark:
12-hole course set in a leafy park near the playground.
Tip: Book ahead on weekends; exact rates vary by season.

Here’s a 500-character review: Wenduine’s Spioenkop is a peaceful coastal viewpoint offering wide North Sea panoramas and a quiet escape from the busier Belgian beaches. The white pavilion adds a charming touch and makes it a nice spot for photos or a scenic rest during a walk or bike ride through the dunes. It’s simple and understated, but that’s part of its appeal. Great for a calm moment, suns...

Great free place for skaters, steps and stuntbikers. Lots of seats to rest for parents, next to the second highest dune on the Belgian coast. There is also a scenic lookout on the top of the nearby dune.

A bit rainy in August but overall pretty nice, seems like a nice spot when the sun is shining. Life guards were put looking even in this weather

A beautiful beach, but the wind blows strongly

One of the ideal place to visit when you are in Wenduine. This place gives you a fantastic viewpoint of the sea/beach and the town. It’s a bit of a hill so I don’t recommend it to those people with leg problems and I don’t think that you can go up with the wheelchair either.
From July to August, use the free care room at Demeyhelling, and rinse off at beach showers. Easter–September offers accessible toilets near the beach.
