What makes it 63% Baby-Friendly: Paved surface accepts strollers and babies ride boats free, yet there are zero on-site nursing or change rooms and low railings by the canal, so carers need extra caution and plan nearby facilities.
Why 2-3 hours visit duration is ideal for with baby: Enough time for a leisurely stroll, family photos, and a 30-minute canal boat ride without rushing.
Stroller-friendly stroll and photos:
Push your stroller along the flat, paved quay and pause for family pictures by the canal.
Tip: Let the baby nap while you enjoy the reflections of medieval houses in the water.
Canal boat tour with baby:
Join the standard 30-minute group cruise from Rosary Quay.
Tip: Buy tickets on the spot; babies under 4 ride free—bring a blanket and check with the operator about stroller space.
Picnic on the stone steps:
Bring snacks or sandwiches and sit on the wide steps by the water.
Tip: Use this free spot for a quick bite and a fun family selfie overlooking the canal.

We went there during midnight and sunrise hour and there was nobody so if you want to take pictures we recommend those hours. The spot if famous for a reason, literally looks like it came out of a painting ❤️❤️

The most picturesque location in Bruges. Here you can also take a boat tour which cost 15 € for 30 minutes ride. I went there in the morning around 10:30 and didn't wait at all. Just bought a ticket on the spot and then boarded the boat, so no reservation is required. The boats were running frequently.

It’s as cute as the photos you’ve seen and another delicious highlight of Bruges. The late afternoon reflections on the canal were just gorgeous. It’s a busy place understandably as bus loads of tourists roll in all day every day to take photos of this spot but if you’re staying in Bruges in summer, I’d just visit after 5pm when they’re all gone. It’s a much nicer photo too.

A magical way to see Bruges! Taking the boat tour was one of the highlights of our visit. Cruising through the canals gave us a totally different perspective of the city—peaceful, romantic, and full of charm. The guide was informative and added a touch of humor while explaining the history of the buildings and bridges we passed. It’s a short ride (about 30 minutes), but absolutely worth it. Great ...

Beautiful spots for pictures with the belfry and canal in the background. There are also good amount of tourist there, but was able to get my picture fairly quickly. There's a boat tour stop there as well, if looking for a boat tour. About $15 per person.
In summer, bring sunshade and water for the baby. In cooler months, dress in layers and check boat schedules for reduced winter departures.
