What makes it 70% Kids-Friendly: The free 14-mouse treasure hunt and simple object scavenger keep children 5-12 engaged, yet tight rooms, steep stairs, and no hands-on play area may shorten the visit and require supervision.
Why 1-2 hours visit duration is ideal for with kids: Enough time for the free mouse hunt, exploring the cottage rooms and enjoying snacks without rushing younger children.
Interactive mouse hunt:
Kids search for 14 hidden wooden mice with a free map and sticker sheet.
Tip: Ask for the hunt sheet at the counter before you start.
Photo-scavenger hunt:
Use picture clues to spot objects like the old oil lamp and lollepot.
Tip: Pair clues with your phone camera to make it a photo game.
Storytelling tour:
Owners share family stories and explain historic tools in simple language.
Tip: Join early to secure a spot in the small gathering.
Slufferkoek tasting:
Try Charlotte’s daily-baked slufferkoek with chocolate or sugar sprinkles.
Tip: Order a child portion (“Majutte Trutte”) for younger kids.
