  • Family Amenities: Nearby cafés and a water fountain make quick snack and drink breaks easy.

Challenges:

  • Uneven Cobblestones: Strollers can be bumpy; consider using a baby carrier or sturdy wheels.
  • Limited Seating: Few benches on the square; bring a small blanket if you plan to rest on the ground.

Very beautiful square one street over from Belfort. There is a small street that takes you to the canals.

A charming historical square blending Gothic and Renaissance architecture, one of the most beautiful spots in Bruges. Home to the 15th-century Town Hall and the stunning Basilica of the Holy Blood. The lively atmosphere, street performers, and cozy cafes make it a perfect place to stroll, relax, and enjoy Bruges’ timeless beauty. 🏰✨

The paintings inside were beautiful, and the video showing the timeline of how the building was constructed and later expanded was very informative.

De Burg is one of the oldest and most historically significant squares in Bruges, located just a short walk from the famous Market Square. Once the site of a fortified castle dating back to the 9th century, it became the political and administrative heart of the city. Today, De Burg is surrounded by a remarkable collection of architectural styles, reflecting Bruges’ long and rich history. Highligh...

Great place to visit and take in the atmosphere. Canel trip well worth a try. Food very pricey. Lack of toilets. Plenty of parking. Plenty of shops and you can fill a whole day.. Horse and cart rides 70e.

In summer, arrive before 10 AM for shade under the Provincial Court. In winter, explore around noon when nearby cafés serve hot chocolate. In December, continue on to the Market Square Christmas market after Burg Square.
