What makes it 65% Kids-Friendly: Kids can count the 365 jets and reach a playground in Resselpark within 3 minutes, but the plaza borders busy roads and lacks toilets, so close supervision and a short visit are advisable.
Why 0.5–1 hour visit duration is ideal for with kids: A 30–60 minute visit gives kids time to count jets, play nearby, and grab a snack without rushing.
Jet-Counting Game:
Challenge kids to spot all 365 small jets, 12 tall jets, and 24 mid-size jets.
Tip: Give each child a checklist and reward them with ice cream when they finish.
Resselpark Playground:
Three-minute walk through Resselpark to find swings, slides, and a sandpit.
Tip: Go early to snag a picnic table nearby and let kids play freely.
Picnic in Stadtpark:
Cross to Stadtpark for open lawns, picnic tables, and a duck pond view.
Tip: Bring sandwiches and a blanket; ducks are fun to watch but not to feed.
Snack at Fountain Stalls:
Choose ice cream or sandwiches from nearby stalls.
Tip: Plan €3–5 per child and eat on a bench facing the fountain jets.

This large fountain was built in 1873 to commemorate the opening of Vienna’s modern high-pressure water supply system. It features multiple powerful vertical water jets rising from the center, creating a dramatic and symmetrical display. The fountain symbolizes the delivery of clean Alpine water to the city and represents a major achievement in 19th-century urban infrastructure.

I was very surprised to find this memorial in a great condition. It is so good that people remember our history, and maybe learn from it.

You can spot the fountain right after exiting the back street of the Belvedere Palace. It's a large fountain, often called the "Flame Fountain." During my visit, there was no water as it was quite cold outside. Still, it's a beautiful sight and definitely worth seeing.

Perfect at all times of day and year, to relax, to see and hear some thing new. We were in the middle of the thai summer fest and it was awesome

Lovely park! I know there is colorful lighting in the evening but I went during the day. Great place to sit and grab some food by the nearby stall after a walk in Belvedere.
March–October: enjoy the free light show nightly from about 8 pm. November–February: fountain may shut down if temperatures drop below freezing.
