What makes it 56% Baby-Friendly: The flat paving aids stroller movement and the fountain’s sound can soothe infants, yet there are no changing tables or nursing rooms, so parents should plan café or museum breaks nearby.
Why 30 minutes–1 hour visit duration is ideal for with baby: This allows time to stroll, rest on benches, and enjoy nearby spots without rushing the baby.
Stroller-friendly stroll:
The flat, paved square around the fountain is ideal for pushing a stroller close to the water jets.
Tip: Push along the outer rim to keep wheels dry and avoid splashes.
Bench rest and people-watching:
Sit on benches around the fountain to let your baby relax to the sound of flowing water.
Tip: Bring a small blanket to make bench seating more comfortable.
Snack break at fountain-edge stalls:
Buy a child-friendly snack or ice cream from nearby stalls for a quick energy boost.
Tip: Look for shaded spots to enjoy snacks away from fountain spray.
Picnic in Stadtpark:
Walk five minutes to Stadtpark for open lawns, picnic tables, and views of the duck pond.
Tip: Pack baby-safe snacks and a blanket for a comfortable picnic.

This large fountain was built in 1873 to commemorate the opening of Vienna’s modern high-pressure water supply system. It features multiple powerful vertical water jets rising from the center, creating a dramatic and symmetrical display. The fountain symbolizes the delivery of clean Alpine water to the city and represents a major achievement in 19th-century urban infrastructure.

I was very surprised to find this memorial in a great condition. It is so good that people remember our history, and maybe learn from it.

You can spot the fountain right after exiting the back street of the Belvedere Palace. It's a large fountain, often called the "Flame Fountain." During my visit, there was no water as it was quite cold outside. Still, it's a beautiful sight and definitely worth seeing.

Perfect at all times of day and year, to relax, to see and hear some thing new. We were in the middle of the thai summer fest and it was awesome

Lovely park! I know there is colorful lighting in the evening but I went during the day. Great place to sit and grab some food by the nearby stall after a walk in Belvedere.
From late March to late October you can catch a free evening light show from 8 pm. In summer, visit early in the morning for cooler temperatures and fewer people.
