Hotel Mercure Salzburg City (couple trip)

Hotel was okay in terms of cleanliness but it is overpriced. The size of the bathroom is too small especially the toilet where there is no comfortable space for a person. We recently stayed in this hotel and I have nothing but praise ! At the reception everyone was very friendly and helpful, the room was always clean and tea and coffee were always replenished. It was my husband’s birthday and they surprised him with some some cake and ballons in the room ! We often go on holiday during our birthdays but no one ever did anything like that. Room was very nice with a comfortable bed. Reception staff appeared quite abrupt and a little un interested but the restaurant staff were very welcoming. The food in the restaurant was lovely and reasonably priced. Breakfast was quite expensive at 26 euro per person so we only had breakfast once. 20 minute walk into old town but nice and safe. Decent (not great) location, very good neighborhood. Front desk staff is OK but they could do so much better. We stayed just for one night at the beginning of our visit to Austria. The room and lobby were very clean. Front desk staff was helpful. Room size was good as well.
