Used with our Salzburg card, 25 bus from Salzburg right to the cable car station. A quick ride up and you're there. Great service, nice restaurant and a nice log cabin up a little higher for hot chocolate and food. You have an included return ticket to the Cable car and the bus 25 that can get you there with your Salzburg card. I think it's definitely worth it even in cases when there isn't the best weather condition.

A well maintained, clean cable car station. There are free bathrooms and an attached restaurant. Cable cars run every 30 minutes down the mountain. The views are great and they have a few signs that match your view up to the names of the mountains.

Combining hiking and a cable car ride makes this mountain station unique. Once you reach the top, you can enjoy beautiful short hikes between the peaks.

Opening during the Easter weekend(sunday). I visited around 9:00, Icy frozen snow on the pathway is quite slippery can be dangerous in general. and Hiking trail to the top of the mountain was not reachable due to snow. But it is great and nice mountain.
From June to mid-October, Ice Cave tours run hourly; outside these months, focus on plateau views and hikes. In winter, check for snow closures on Thomas Eder Steig.
