One of the most beautiful lakes in Austria, and also the clearest water in Austria. But almost all areas were private, which meant it wasn't easy to find areas to enter the lake. But we still found some secret places that make us like have a private lake area. We didn't do full complete ways around the lake because we didn't use comfortable shoes for walking. Notes: parking can be a bit confusing...

So many times I have been in and around this beautiful lake and it never disappoints me. Sunrise or sunset and everything in between, it’s gorgeous. The water is pure and most of the time you see the ground. A real gem in the heart of an amazing area.

Beautiful lake with crystal clear water. As I found out, motor boats are prohibited (thanks God!), therefore you can enjoy peaceful and quiet time at the one of the beaches around the lake. Highly recommended!
Visit May–September for swimming and SUP. In spring, watch the meadows bloom. Late autumn offers fewer crowds. Check winter trail conditions before hiking off-season.
