What makes it 41% Baby-Friendly: Babies can stay in the courtyard or café, but uneven tour paths hinder prams, and no listed change tables or nursing rooms mean parents must improvise, so overall convenience is low.
Note: Sunshine Castle is 41% Baby-Friendly. You may want to consider other Baby-Friendly Things to Do in Sunshine Coast for a more suitable experience.
Why 1-3 hours visit duration is ideal for with baby: A few hours lets you enjoy the courtyard, café and toy shop at a relaxed pace with a baby.
Courtyard Photo Spots:
Wheel your pram onto the flat courtyard and take family photos by the turret and drawbridge.
Tip: Use a wide-angle lens to capture the whole family and castle backdrop safely.
Castle Café Break:
Relax in indoor or outdoor seating with space for your pram.
Tip: Ask staff for a corner table for privacy and easy access with your stroller.
Toy Shop Browsing:
Enter the Absolut Toys shop free and browse classic and educational toys.
Tip: No need to buy—enjoy safe indoor browsing while your baby stays in the pram.

Nothing like I expected. Most areas closed.. just a collection of dolls and a toy shop at the end. Yeah the 1 car in the car park is mine. Seems like tourism on the sunny coast is dying 😞

A shadow of what it was - most of it is closed to the public. I'm glad I went years ago, when it was fully open. Still interesting however, if you do the "treasure hunt" and just admire the structure, which is pretty great. Also, the little cafe is cute, and the toy store has the best selection of Playmobil probably in all of Australia.

In fact, there are photos of her at this castle as a baby! Just before we got married, we visited the castle together. But due to its age and (I imagine) financial struggles, it’s now falling into a bit of disrepair. I’d say 50% of it is closed d...

Great for kids. A toy and doll museum set in amongst a Medieval vibe castle. Cafe. Toy shop.

If you take the time to read what's there, and are keen to learn what they have to offer, you could be ther...
Queensland sun can be strong – visit in the cooler morning hours and pack sun protection. In winter, bring a light jacket for breezy afternoons.
