What makes it 77% Couple-Friendly: Couples can pose on the drawbridge, explore armour displays, then share coffee overlooking the moat; a pleasant 1-3 h outing, though closed interiors limit depth and no night lighting cuts romance.
Why 2-3 hours visit duration is ideal for couple trip: Allows time for the mini-tour, café break and toy shop visit without rushing.
Courtyard Photo Tour:
Walk the drawbridge and turrets for castle-front portraits.
Tip: Visit in morning light for soft shadows on the sandstone.
Self-Guided Mini Tour:
Explore armour displays, the Doll Gallery and Model Train exhibit.
Tip: Wear sturdy shoes and read each history shield to learn European castle life.
Castle Coffee Shop Break:
Sip a hot drink or snack on the terrace overlooking the moat.
Tip: Try the house-roast coffee and grab a seat early to get a view.
Absolut Toys Shopping:
Browse classic and educational toys in the castle-based shop.
Tip: Set a budget before you browse to avoid overspending.

Nothing like I expected. Most areas closed.. just a collection of dolls and a toy shop at the end. Yeah the 1 car in the car park is mine. Seems like tourism on the sunny coast is dying 😞

A shadow of what it was - most of it is closed to the public. I'm glad I went years ago, when it was fully open. Still interesting however, if you do the "treasure hunt" and just admire the structure, which is pretty great. Also, the little cafe is cute, and the toy store has the best selection of Playmobil probably in all of Australia.

Great for kids. A toy and doll museum set in amongst a Medieval vibe castle. Cafe. Toy shop.

If you take the time to read what's there, and are keen to learn what they have to offer, you could be ther...
Summer mornings stay cooler; bring sunscreen. Winter weekdays are quieter and cozy with hot drinks.
