What makes it 61% Kids-Friendly: Older children can build sandcastles and explore shallow rock pools, but parents must stay beside them since waves are unpatrolled and rocks are slippery and there are no lifesavers or playgrounds.
Why 2-3 hours visit duration is ideal for with kids: Gives time to explore rock pools, enjoy a picnic and spot wildlife without tiring younger children.
Rockpool Exploration:
Step into shallow pools at low tide to find small fish, crabs and shells.
Tip: Wear reef shoes and bring a small bucket or net for safe collecting.
Sandcastle Building & Beach Games:
Use damp sand between rock edges for sturdy sandcastles and toss a frisbee or ball.
Tip: Pack small buckets and shovels, and choose a flat spot near the water’s edge.
Dolphin & Turtle Watching:
Scan the water near rock ledges at high tide for dolphins and turtles.
Tip: Bring binoculars and a snack; sit quietly on the rocks to avoid startling wildlife.
Supervised Shallow Swimming:
Let children paddle in the gentle, calm bay waters close to shore.
Tip: Stay within arm’s reach and visit in the morning when currents are weakest.
Family Picnic:
Spread a blanket on sand or nearby turf under pandanus trees for lunch.
Tip: Pack easy-to-eat foods and bring a small trash bag to leave no trace.

Beautiful and quiet rocky beach. I'm also not sure how blow holes form but it feels like there might be potential for one here based on the bubbles coming up through the sandy pools whenever a wave hits the cave under the rocks. Regardless, very cool

We came here after sunset but it looks like a STUNNING beach and we will definitely be back! I loved the fact there were free beach toys in a “toy library” for kids to use during their visit. Showers right next to the stairs. What a gem!!

Beautiful small beach with a couple of coves. You can catch a wave here on the right conditions. The beach is unpatrolled so if your not confident I suggest a swim at Coolum's patrolled beach. There is plenty of parking close by and a toilet a short distance walk up on Point Perry. If you like a complete tan you can walk sourh to third bay and enjoy full body sunbaking. Swim safe and enjoy the su...

Nice small beach. The beach side quite sandy. And other part is rocky.
In winter (June–August) water clarity improves for rockpool and wildlife spotting. In summer, sea breezes pick up after midday, so plan beach play in the morning.
