What makes it 78% Couple-Friendly: Couples enjoy sunset walks, dog-friendly beach swims, barbecues and café meals, but constant off-leash dogs and limited seclusion reduce romantic atmosphere.
Why 2–3 hours visit duration is ideal for couple trip: Enough time to walk your dog, picnic, and catch a sunset without rushing.
Beach walk or jog:
Walk or jog along 400 m of soft white sand and shallow water while your dog runs off-leash.
Tip: Bring water, a ball, and wear sturdy shoes for the sand.
Picnic and barbecue:
Use electric barbecues and picnic tables under shaded gazebos overlooking the ocean.
Tip: Pack easy-grill items like sausages or veggie skewers and arrive 30 minutes before peak lunch.
Sunset on the dunes:
Sit on timber benches or dune tops to watch the sun set over the Indian Ocean.
Tip: Come 20 minutes early to claim a seat and bring a light jacket for ocean breezes.
South Beach Café:
Enjoy coffee, burgers, fish & chips in a dog-friendly indoor or outdoor setting.
Tip: Check opening hours before you go and try the local fish & chips for two.
Private yoga or Pilates:
Hire a trainer for a couples session on the grassy reserve beside the beach.
Tip: Book 1 week ahead through the City of Fremantle Events Team for best availability.

A little patch of happiness, dog or no dog. My sister loves this spot for the calm & clear waters, great for kids & families. I love the spot because dogs are just the best! We've been fostering & often bring our fosters here after 2 or 3 weeks to expose them to the beach, & this one is pretty chill even with other peoples doggos. After 5 fosters, I think we're finally going to fail on our sixth, ...

Nice open green space for dogs and people to relax and enjoy the ocean breeze

It's a fun place to bring your dog for a swim, a run and a good gossip with all the other dogs.

Lovely lil friendly area with a great view & delicious food truck (the pickled octopus) for a fresh n tasty before or after swim bite 😍 Grassed area has shade, couple of picnic tables and benches so plenty of spots to sit. Reasonable parking available close by to the rinse showers/tap so your dog doesn't stink out the car either! Wish I'd come here earlier!

On holiday in Fremantle so needed a dog beach, so glad to find this one. All the dogs seemed friendly and had a few chats with others on holiday, everyone was great. A lot of people come for the sunset, it’s so lovely, especially over the harbour. Plenty of bins around and dog bag holders.
In summer bring sunscreen, hats and plenty of water. In winter expect strong coastal winds—dress in layers and check the forecast before you go.
