What makes it 75% Couple-Friendly: Shaded BBQ shelters, wetlands strolls and Nyungar Yarning Circle suit a relaxed date, yet constant playground noise and family crowds reduce privacy for couples seeking quiet romance.
Why 2-3 hours visit duration is ideal for couple trip: Allows time to picnic, stroll the wetland trail, visit the bird hide and yarning circle without rushing.
Picnic at lakeside BBQ shelter:
Use the built-in barbecues and tables under jarrah trees.
Tip: Reserve a shelter on busy weekends and bring local cheese and bread.
Walk the Walliabup Wetland Trail:
Follow the 1 km loop through jarrah-banksia woodland and over a floating boardwalk.
Tip: Wear sturdy shoes and pause at the bird hide to watch for black swans.
Explore the Nyungar Yarning Circle:
Step on sensor pads to hear local Dreamtime stories from the talking rocks.
Tip: Stand quietly in the centre and listen for directional audio.
Bird-watch at the eastern-shore hide:
Spot over 130 waterbird species from the sheltered hide.
Tip: Bring binoculars and use a bird-ID app for quick identification.
Grab coffee or a snack:
Visit the Frostbite Café or the coffee van in the car park.
Tip: Try their seasonal roast and take your cup to the lake edge for views.

Has to be one of the best playgrounds ever, huge with loads of activity and challenging play equipment for all ages.

I really love Bibra Lake Regional Playground! It’s such a peaceful place with so many fun things for kids to explore. There’s always a nice breeze from the lake and it feels relaxing just to sit and watch the children play. My kids especially love the flying fox😂 Highly recommend it to any family in Perth! 🫰🏻

Great enclosed playground for all ages kids, loads of climbing things, slides, swings, sand and water play, you name it. Plenty of bbq plates and seating area too. Ours favourite has to be the flying fox!

Wonderful place to bring the kids! Impressive playground suitable for kids of varying ages. We spent a memorable afternoon having a picnic lunch with family and our grandson enjoying himself thoroughly.

It is such a good place to bring your kids for weekends entertainment and fun. It's free for all. The playground has a good number of playground equipment and amenities. Kids seem to love the net-house style bridge. There is wildlife around the lake - a lot of birds. But lake looks really dry on the sides except in its centre.
In summer, arrive before 10 am or after 4 pm to avoid heat. In winter, wear waterproof footwear for muddy paths.
