Best Western Queen Victoria Market Hotel (solo trip)

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel near Victoria Market in Melbourne. I arrived late on Saturday night, and the receptionist was incredibly welcoming and helpful, making the check-in smooth despite the hour. The housekeeping staff were also excellent, keeping the room spotless and comfortable. Highly recommend this hotel for both location and service!

After a long day at work, I arrived around 8:30 pm only to find the hotel completely closed. The door sign said to dial 1 on the intercom — I tried several times, no answer. To be honest, my initial thought on arrival outside this hotel was "Oh God" because the outside of this hotel is very very understated, just a really small sign with "Best Western Logo" identifies it as a hotel. Incredible location. Felt like I was a local in Melbourne. Really quiet rooms. Unfortunately the male owner/manager of the property was very rude and dismissive on multiple occasions. I would suggest not allowing him to deal with customer interactions as it made an amazing stay a dismal affair. I moved to this hotel after two poor nights sleep somewhere else. so the clean, comfortable, warm, well provisioned room with modern bathroom and keyboard security for each floor was a welcome respite. The staff were very helpful and friendly, and I could leave my luggage before check in and and after checkout, so I could wonder around bag free. Highly recommend.
