Such a lovely place to chill out on a hot day and enjoy the cold water, listen to the breeze and feel the sand. Once upon a time on my birthday, I celebrated here with pizza and chips! The beach has indeed had more aesthetic changes but It's still a pleasure to visit.

The new pier and esplanade is the best thing the Council has done for a long time. An eyesore to a beautiful and a location that the Altona community should be so proud of.

I had a good day with my kids. Nice beach. There are a lot of coffee shops, restaurants, etc....around the beach.

Beautiful beach for a day out. Plenty of shade in the afternoon in the west side of the beach. Good for cycling or a beach day picnic. It does get crowdy over weekend but we were still able to find parking. Also the parking is free on the road. There are toilets in the nearby parks so be ready to walk slightly if you need to go 😅. Recommend place to visit.
Visit between December and March to enjoy free beach wheelchair hire and misting jets. Outside summer, water is cooler but the pier stroll stays calm and quiet.
