Rydges Southbank Townsville, an EVT hotel (solo trip)

This is not 4 star accommodation. You pay for a very tired and underwhelming room/hotel. Carpet in room had holes, bathroom was broken and cracked, room dusty, aircon noisey.We were very disappointed. Location is the best thing going for it. Considering other good options in same street, we won’t be back.

Our first stay in what we thought would be a little more "Up Market" accommodation at $235 a night... So disappointed. It is defiantly central to Townsville Palmer Street. Rooms are showing their age. Old yellow tiles in tiny bathroom with 1980’s curtains. Vanities are worn out with ceramic coming away and holes in the wall where the hair drier used to leave. The staff are friendly and welcoming, the beds are comfortable, water pressure is great and the room felt clean. The location is excellent with pubs, restaurants and the stadium within walking distance. However the bathrooms are really dark and the place feels like things are starting to turn a bit shabby.
