What makes it 81% Kids-Friendly: Kids can join Junior Marine Biologist sessions, glass-bottom boat rides and use a shallow pool; parents must supervise closely because some beaches lack lifeguards and stinger suits are essential in season.

Why 0.5-1 day visit duration is ideal for with kids: Allows time for a boat tour, snorkel, beach play and a short hike without rushing young children.
Glass-Bottom Boat Tour:
See vibrant coral gardens and green turtles through a glass hull.
Tip: Book the first cruise of the day to avoid crowds and spot turtles in clear water.
Kids Activity Program:
Daily Junior Marine Biologist games, beach art and treasure hunts.
Tip: Pick up the schedule at reception and pack sunscreen and a hat for your child.
Self-Guided Rainforest Walk to Summit:
Follow a marked trail through rainforest to panoramic lookout over the reef.
Tip: Grab a free trail map at reception and start by 9 am to avoid midday heat.
Fish Feeding on the Jetty:
Watch and feed schools of reef fish gathering under the pier.
Tip: Bring a waterproof camera and arrive 10 minutes early for best spots.
Beach Time at Welcome Bay:
Relax on soft sand and snorkel in shallow calm water.
Tip: Hire stinger suits at the Sports Hub and bring kids’ masks for easy snorkeling.

Nudey Beach is an absolute must-visit. It’s completely different from the beaches near the pier, with lots of beautiful coral that makes you feel like you’re in another world. If I get the chance, I’d love to stay at one of the resorts on the island.

I spent about 4 hours at Nudey Beach and just over an hour at the main beach. If you're heading to this island, I highly recommend visiting Nudey Beach. ✨🏖 The walking path to Nudey Beach is paved and easy to walk on, even with flip flops. Great little island for snorkelling. 45min boat ride from Cairns. Plenty of green turtles and pretty coral. Do the glass bottom boat ride of you don't want to get your feet wet. Loads of options for food and drinks. You will need about 6 hrs all up if you want to make the most of it.

Was given a box lunch, which wasn't pleasant as nothing had lids on and spoilt a...

The weather was good, so the island was very pretty and clean. Good snorkeling, good view overall. Tap Beer was expensive, but the stake sandwich was worth the order.
From November to May, wear stinger suits in the water. In the wet season (Jan–Mar), plan pool or indoor playroom time during afternoon showers.
