School-age children love the knee-deep clear water and fish feeding tours, but parents must supervise closely, bring every supply, and be ready for no toilets, shade, or first-aid facilities.
Why 1 day visit duration is ideal for with kids: Allows time for snorkeling, kayaking and a relaxed beach picnic without rushing.
Beach play & shallow snorkeling:
Kids can splash and search tide pools on the eastern shore where water stays knee-deep for meters.
Tip: Bring water toys, buckets and life vests for safe fun.
Family guided snorkel tour:
Join a 4-hour tour with boat transfers, equipment, guide and boogie boards with view-holes.
Tip: Book in advance and pack rash guards and goggles for extra comfort.
Half-day kayak & snorkel combo:
Paddle calm Broadwater waters, snorkel among tropical fish and spot turtles on South Stradbroke.
Tip: Carry snacks, wear reef shoes and check tide times before departure.
Sunset beach picnic:
Pack dinner or snacks and settle on the white sand as the sun dips behind the Broadwater skyline.
Tip: Bring a blanket, insect repellent and a torch for the return trip.

One of my favourite places on the GC. Always a great day there 🔥

A fantastic spot to come and relax away from the crowds . Only accessible by boat. Crystal clear and shallow water great for the kids. Cons: can be overrun by jetskis, which can be dangerous at times. Also can get rough at times with easterly winds .

Awesome place to drop the anchor and come ashore. Not to mention numerous spots for a swim
