How Couple-Friendly is Point Danger?

Couples enjoy romantic sunsets, ocean breeze picnics and seasonal whale sightings just steps from car park. Lack of evening lighting and few secluded spots slightly reduce intimacy.

Considerations for visiting Point Danger (couple trip)

Positives:

  • Panoramic Ocean Views: The headland offers clear sightlines north to Surfers Paradise and south to Byron Bay
  • Off-Peak Tranquility: Visits outside peak hours let you enjoy the headland in near solitude

Challenges:

  • Limited Parking: Spaces fill up quickly at sunset; early arrival is essential
  • Exposed Headland: During winter or storms the viewpoint can be very windy and cool

Recommended visit duration: 3-4 hours

Why 3-4 hours visit duration is ideal for couple trip: Allows time for sunset, whale watching, a picnic and a coastal walk

It definitely is one of the most beautiful places in the Gold Coast/ Tweed Heads. It is situated at the border of QLD and NSW and it is just wonderful how you can see both the ocean and the skyline of Gold Coast at the same time. There's a large green space to hang out, too! The only thing to note is that it could get windy so if you go on a day with a mild temperature that would be the most ideal...

Steeped in maritime history and offering breathtaking panoramic views of the ocean, this headland is both a natural wonder and a historical landmark. Once notorious for its treacherous waters, the headland served as a key naviga...

Point Danger is a stunning beachside lookout with incredible views of the coastline. The area is beautifully set up with a park, BBQ facilities, and tables, making it perfect for a picnic or a relaxing day out. It’s also a fantastic spot to watch surfers catching waves. Being right on the border of NSW and QLD, the time zone changes added a unique twist to the experience. Highly recommend visitin...
