How Kids-Friendly is Paradise Country?

Children up to 12 can hand-feed kangaroos, ride ponies, explore a fenced playground and splash zone, with frequent shows, shaded seating and toilets nearby, making the farm an engaging, full, safe outing.

Considerations for visiting Paradise Country (with kids)

Positives:

  • Stroller & wheelchair friendly: Wide paths and accessible lanes let you move easily with prams or wheelchairs.
  • Balanced mix of shows and free play: Kids can split time between scheduled performances and open animal paddocks.
  • Educational farm life: Hands-on tasks like milking and shearing teach children real farm skills.

Challenges:

  • Fixed show times: Performances start on a strict schedule—plan around them to avoid missing events.
  • Limited shade areas: Some feeding paddocks have little cover—bring portable shade or hats.
  • Queue for koala photos: Lines can get long at peak hours—book early or plan for off-peak times.

Recommended visit duration: 2-3 hours

Why 2-3 hours visit duration is ideal for with kids: 2-3 hours lets your family catch shows, feed animals and explore without tiring younger kids.

Paradise Country was a lovely, low-key change of pace after the hustle and bustle of the bigger theme parks like Movie World and Sea World. It offered a more relaxed atmosphere, with a rural charm that was refreshing. The shows were surprisingly engaging—especially the stockman and horse shows, which gave a nice insight into Aussie farm life. It was great to see characters like Shaun the Sheep, w...

We had such a good day at the farm. It’s really spacious and relaxed, and the animals are super friendly. The kids had a blast brushing the goats and checking out all the animals up close. The tractor ride was fun, and the $10 pony rides are a great option for the little ones. We also caught the sheepdog show—it was honestly one of the highlights, really fun to watch. You can even take a photo wi...

This is a cute little wildlife park that also features some domesticated livestock. There are photo opportunities with koalas and dingoes, and twice daily lorikeet feeding (to watch, not participate in). You can do a Farmstay experience and sleep over "glamping"-style. We did the Koala Breakfast encounter, which consisted of a buffet cooked breakfast and the opportunity to view a koala having the...

Really basic. Shows were underdone, short, not interesting. Shaun the sheep show could have been fun, but was about 3 minutes of dancing to music .. what a shame. Wouldn't have taken much to add a 15 min play for the kids. Not many kangaroos, or variety in animals. Lone Pine is a better bet for families.
