What makes it 76% Kids-Friendly: School-age children can climb basalt rocks, spot sea-eagles and join a child-oriented Jellurgal tour, while toilets and picnic tables help; many stairs and no playground may exhaust smaller kids.
Why 2-3 hours visit duration is ideal for with kids: Gives time for the Oceanview Track, a picnic, and a short cultural tour without rushing young children.
Oceanview Track & hexagonal boulders:
Walk the 1.2 km paved path along the headland and let kids climb on the six-sided basalt rocks.
Tip: Start at Tallebudgera Creek end for easy access and carry water for the short stops at rock pools.
Rainforest Circuit to Tumgun Lookout:
Follow the 2.3 km return trail through shaded rainforest to panoramic ocean views.
Tip: Take breaks on the steps and bring binoculars for whale spotting from June to November.
Picnic at Goodwin Terrace day-use area:
Use the picnic tables and toilets near the northern entrance for a relaxed family lunch.
Tip: Arrive early to claim a shaded table and pack sandwiches or snacks from nearby cafes.
Jellurgal Little Explorers cultural tour:
Join a 1.5–2 hour child-focused walk with Dreamtime stories and an art workshop.
Tip: Book in school holidays; dress kids in closed shoes and a hat.

This is a most do walk that I would recommend to everybody. We decided to go for a mix of half rainforest and half beach. Nice to see much wildlife .

A scenic walking trail that hugs the coastline, offering beautiful views of the ocean and a distant glimpse of the Gold Coast skyline. You can complete both the beachside and summit loops in about 40 minutes to an hour. It’s a peaceful, well-kept trail, perfect for those who want a short but rewarding escape into nature.

You can experience nature inside a natural rainforest right in the middle of the city. The view point provides a mesmerizing view of the goldcoast and pacific ocean. You can even see Dolphins there !! You can also enjoy nice swim in pacific ocean. I loved it. ❤️

It’s an absolute beautiful place to visit if you’re in the area. We took about 1.5 hours in the Burleigh Head National Park to walk around. There are different tracks and it’s all connected to another. We stopped in between the tracks to check out the views and surfers. Love this place.
Plan for whale watching from June to November. Expect afternoon showers in summer and mild winter days. Wear sun protection year-round.
