What makes it 57% Baby-Friendly: Parents can wheel a pram from the summit car park to the lookout and use nearby toilets, yet absence of change tables, rough tracks beyond the sealed path and limited shade lower overall convenience.
Why 1-2 hours visit duration is ideal for with baby: Drive up to the lookout, enjoy the view, picnic and wildlife spotting without tiring the baby.
Drive-up Red Hill Lookout:
Follow Red Hill Drive to the summit car park and take the 65 m paved path to the viewing platform.
Tip: Bring your pram or a carrier. Your baby can nap while you enjoy city views.
Picnic at summit tables:
Use the sheltered picnic tables under trees near the lookout for a snack or bottle feed.
Tip: Lay out a portable change mat on the table edge. Pack easy-to-hold snacks.
Wildlife spotting at car park:
Kangaroos graze near the summit and cockatoos fly overhead at dawn and dusk.
Tip: Go early or late in the day. Keep a safe distance and have your camera ready.

Breathtaking view of south Canberra. It's free and no advanced booking needed unless you plan to visit the cafe/restaurant on top of Red Hill. It's one of many gems in Canberra and fully accessible by hiking, cycling or driving. Highly recommended.

Incredibly beautiful walk/hike. Highly recommend. You don’t need to be experienced to walk this track at all, it is very clear and easy. Would’ve been 5 stars however the parking situation is very unclear. Google Maps takes you to a dirt track that is not ideal for parking or driving at all, during our walk we found out that there is a legitimate carpark however the map did not take me there.

Beautiful place for visit. With family its best to go early morning or sunset. There is plenty of parking available near redhill cafe which is closed at moment. Public toilet is behind the cafe area. Davidson Hill Trigonometrical Station look out is a must go place to see canberra and surrounding but not suitable for old people or who has problem in walking because its around 500mts from car par...
Summer days can be hot on the lookout. Visit early, bring sun hats and sunscreen. In winter, wrap your baby in warm layers. Tracks get muddy after rain, so stick to the paved path.
